When you decide to upgrade to your optical tube, you usually decide to replace the focuser, which is often undersized and not suited to the increasingly high demands of the astrophotography and visualist world with large, heavy eyepieces. Auriga has thought of these ever increasing and specific requests, providing owners of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, like the models in the Celestron catalog, with a robust, precise and high-performance external focuser in addition to the classic focuser supplied with the SC optical tubes which provide for the displacement of the primary mirror along the axis. The 2 '' focuser for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes marked Auriga has a double speed system with 1:11 reduction to allow a fast and precise focusing, with any weight you use, both a large wide-angle eyepiece and a camera with filter wheel, off-axis or other guide. The 30mm stroke will be enough to satisfy every possible need. The entire focuser is made of anodised aluminum, ensuring maximum performance in terms of stability and reliability. This version of the focuser is equipped with a Crayford system and accommodates both 50.8mm diameter eyepieces and 31.8mm eyepieces thanks to the Quick Lock adapter included with the focuser. The 50.8 / 31.8 adapter is locked thanks to the proven brass ring system, for maximum safety and reliability. The convenient and effective Quick Lock system allows a safe grip on the barrel of any eyepiece. Simply unscrew and tighten the ring to lock the eyepiece in the desired position. The knurls allow a secure grip on each ring. If you have 31.8mm diameter eyepieces you will be able to use them without any problem and without worrying about ruining or indenting them. The classic block system with screw in fact used to engrave the coupling barrel and had the tendency to tilt the eyepiece itself in the diagonal. With the Quick Lock system, on the other hand, you will be sure that your optical train, even when inserting heavy and large barlow lenses or other accessories, is always perfectly in line, without tip or tilt to ruin your observations.
