The TSN-55 PROMINAR ultra-light and ultra-compact spotting scope represents the pinnacle of Kowa's proprietary know-how and technologies. Our mission was to develop a smaller, compact, and lightweight scope from the larger TSN-99, TSN-88, and TSN-66 models, making it virtually pocket-sized. The TSN-55 PROMINAR's 55mm pure fluorite crystal optics provide birdwatchers and outdoor enthusiasts with an astonishing level of image clarity, offering a field of view free from any first-order optical aberrations. All of this is encased in a lightweight and compact FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) body, literally fitting in your pocket. The TSN-55 scope is equipped with a 17X – 40X WIDE ANGLE Zoom eyepiece that ensures performance and versatility like never before in a compact, miniaturized body; this integrated eyepiece is directly derived from the top-tier TE-11WZ used in larger fluorite scopes like the TSN-99, TSN-88, and TSN-66.

Pure Fluorite Crystal Lenses
Traditionally crafted in Japan, the TSN-55 scope joins Kowa's line of precision optics characterized by a pure fluorite crystal objective lens. The TSN-55 PROMINAR offers the opportunity to experience the precision and clarity of a top-of-the-line PROMINAR scope in a lightweight and miniature body, compact enough to allow for very low levels of construction tolerance.
Integrated 17-40X Wide-Angle Zoom Eyepiece
The TSN-55 scope is equipped with a non-removable integrated eyepiece that represents the pinnacle of Kowa engineering. Directly derived from the top-tier TE-11WZ eyepiece, the integrated eyepiece in the TSN-55 features a 17X to 40X zoom, providing maximum versatility for all observation needs. The field of view of approximately 2° and the 17mm exit pupil offer spectacular wide-field observations, making you feel completely immersed in the scene.
Kowa Repelling KR Coating
Kowa's proprietary KR coating is applied to the 55mm objective lens of the TSN-55 for additional optical protection, reducing the risk of dirt and liquid accumulation on the lens and facilitating cleaning operations.

The lightweight and compact FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) body ensures both lightness and portability. With a fully sealed and nitrogen-filled body, this scope is 100% waterproof and can be used safely in humid and dusty environments. It strikes the perfect balance between strength and weight. The TSN-55 PROMINAR is built to last a lifetime. Premium features include a retractable sunshade with an integrated sightline and a lens cover that attaches to the scope body with a cord. The instrument is available in both angled (A) and straight (S) configurations.
