The Artesky 0.8x Focal Reducer for 80ED APO is a field corrector designed specifically for the Artesky APO80EDF7 refractor, with extended compatibility for other apochromatic refractors up to F/7.5 by adjusting the backfocus distance to match the optical configuration of the telescope in use.
Thanks to its optimized field correction, this reducer delivers sharp, aberration-free images even on large-format sensors, making it well suited for modern astrophotography with high-resolution CCD and CMOS cameras.
Backfocus and Filter Connection: Flexibility for Every Astrophotography Setup
The backfocus distance from the T2 thread is 55 mm for the standard configuration with an 80 mm F/7.0 refractor. This value is critical for achieving accurate focus and uniform sensor coverage in deep-sky astrophotography.
The reducer features a front 2" filter connection, allowing direct use of narrowband or broadband filters — such as H-alpha, OIII, or SII — without the need for additional adapters between the corrector and the optical train.
