Visual and photographic use
Many applications call for regular filter changes; usually you remove the camera or eyepiece from the telescope, unscrew the filter, screw in a different one, put everything back in the telescope and refocus.
All of this is tedious and takes up a lot of time!
Examples of use
Astrophotography: LRGB imaging, narrowband imaging, use of different contrast filters or nebula filters
Planetary observing: Ideal for coloured filters. Changing filters instantly with the drawer lets you compare the different effect of each filter in a moment, and saves you a great deal of time!
Deep-sky observing: You can directly compare the differences between UHC, OIII and other filters; this lets you capture the most detail from every object you observe!
Advantages of the filter drawer over other systems
