The Artesky Canon EF/T2 adapter is specifically designed for astrophotographers who want to use Canon EF photographic lenses directly on cooled CMOS cameras from ZWO ASI and QHY, without giving up the use of 2" (50.8 mm) interference filters in cell-mounted format. Ideal for mobile wide-field astrophotography, this adapter combines mechanical practicality and optical compatibility in a single compact solution.
Dual Magnetic Filter Drawer System — 50.8 mm (2")
The core of this product is the dual 50.8 mm (2") filter drawer system, enabling rapid insertion of light pollution filters, narrowband filters, and any other cell-mounted 2" interference filter. The filter drawers feature a magnetic locking mechanism that ensures secure attachment during imaging sessions with no risk of slipping, while remaining extremely easy to swap between filters. The dual-drawer configuration allows two filters to be pre-loaded and switched in seconds — a practical advantage during field sessions.
1/4" Photo Thread for Star Trackers and Vixen Bar
The adapter integrates a foot with standard 1/4" photo thread, compatible with any portable star tracker or Vixen bar equipped with a 1/4" screw. This feature makes the system immediately operational with most alt-azimuth and equatorial travel mounts, with no additional adapters required.
Lens and CMOS Camera Compatibility
The adapter accepts all Canon EF lenses (identified by the red dot on the mount). Full compatibility with all Canon EF-S lenses (white square) is not guaranteed. Via a Canon/Nikon converter (not included), Nikon-mount lenses can also be used.
On the camera side, a male T2 thread is provided, compatible with the following cooled CMOS cameras:
- ZWO ASI: ASI 1600, ASI 294, ASI 183, ASI 071, ASI 385
- QHY: QHY 183, QHY 163, QHY 168
Additional filter drawers for 1.25" and 36 mm filters are available separately (see the recommended products section).
