The Auriga 9-27mm zoom eyepiece is the ideal choice for anyone who wants a single accessory capable of adapting to any observing goal: from the Moon to planets, deep-sky objects to solar observation with a filter. The continuously adjustable focal length from 9mm to 27mm makes it an extraordinarily versatile instrument, perfect for beginners and experienced amateurs alike who want fewer eyepieces in their bag without sacrificing quality.
7-element FMC optics: contrast and definition without compromise
The optical system comprises 7 elements in 4 groups, each coated with FMC (Fully Multi-Coated) polymer anti-reflection treatment. The result is high contrast and sharp image definition across the entire field of view. Thanks to exceptional contrast modulation levels, the eyepiece performs excellently in combination with Barlow lenses and on short-focus refractors, where aberration correction is most critical.
Apparent field and eye relief
The apparent field of view varies with the selected focal length:
- 60° at 9mm (minimum focal length – maximum magnification)
- 40° at 27mm (maximum focal length – minimum magnification)
The 15mm eye relief ensures comfortable use even with spectacles, without vignetting or loss of field.
CNC mechanics and Twist-Cup eyecup
The mechanics are manufactured with precision CNC machining for a robust build and minimal tolerances. The standard 31.8mm (1.25") barrel fits any compatible focuser. The adjustable Twist-Cup eyecup makes observation sessions more comfortable by eliminating lateral reflections and protecting the eyepiece during transport.
