The Leica Noctivid 10x42 is Leica’s reference binocular for professional birdwatching, safari and wildlife observation. With a light transmission of 91% — among the highest in its class — it delivers extraordinarily bright, sharp and colour-true images even in the most adverse lighting conditions. A twilight factor of 20.5 confirms its exceptional performance at dusk and in woodland environments. The compact format (124×150×59 mm, 860 g) and perfect balance ensure fatigue-free observation over extended sessions.
HDC® and AquaDura® Coatings for Maximum Transmission
The HDC® (High Durable Coating) multi-layer treatment applied to all optical surfaces maximises light transmission and provides long-lasting protection against scratches and wear. The hydrophobic AquaDura® coating protects external surfaces from water, moisture and dust, maintaining maximum clarity even when the binocular is wet. Stray-light suppression is optimised for maximum contrast even in strong backlight.
Prism System with P40 Phase Correction and HighLux-System HLS™
The roof prism system features the P40 phase correction coating and the proprietary HighLux-System HLS™, which maximises internal prism reflection and chromatic coherence across the entire visible spectrum. The result is an image with contrast, brightness and colour accuracy at the very top of the premium segment.
Field of View and Close Focus
With a real field of view of 6.4° (112 m at 1,000 m) and a close-focus distance of 1.9 m, the Noctivid delivers panoramic long-distance views and detailed close observation. The 19 mm eye relief ensures a full field of view even for spectacle wearers; the twist-and-pull eyecups lock in two positions. Internal focusing is via a precise, play-free central wheel.
Construction and Waterproofing
The die-cast magnesium body with nitrogen filling is waterproof to 5 m depth — one of the highest sealing specifications in its class. The non-slip rubber coating provides a pleasant tactile feel and a secure grip in any condition. The patented long-life enamel protects metal surfaces against wear. Supplied with: shaped neoprene strap, objective lens caps, eyepiece caps and Cordura bag.
