The Leica Trinovid 10x42 HD is the large-objective version of the Trinovid HD range, combining Leica HD optical quality with a robust, compact build. The 42 mm objective delivers a twilight factor of 20.5 and 90% light transmission, making it ideal for birdwatching at dawn and dusk, safaris and wildlife observation in varying light. HD technology ensures razor-sharp images and superior colour fidelity. The robust rubber armour improves impact resistance and provides a secure grip in any weather.
HD Optics: sharpness, contrast and colour accuracy
The HD technology of the Trinovid range delivers exceptionally sharp images with high contrast and brilliant, true-to-life colour reproduction. A field of view of 113 m at 1,000 m with a subjective angular field of 61.3° provides a wide panorama for tracking moving subjects. The 90% light transmission ensures bright images from early morning through to late dusk.
Ergonomics and carrying system
The Trinovid 10x42 HD features a sophisticated carrying system with a shaped neoprene strap designed to reduce fatigue on long outings. The 15.5 mm eye relief and twist-and-pull eyecups with 4 click stops ensure optimal viewing comfort even for spectacle wearers. The interpupillary range (58–76 mm) adapts to every face. The 1.6 m close focus allows near-field observation.
Construction and waterproofing
The non-slip rubber-armoured body is waterproof to 4 m depth and purged with inert gas to prevent internal fogging from temperature changes. Robust, lightweight and balanced: 730 g in a 117×140×65 mm form factor. Supplied with: shaped neoprene strap, eyepiece caps and Cordura case.
