The Leica Trinovid 8x20 BCA is the compact Leica binocular for those who refuse to compromise on optical quality while travelling. At just 235 g and 96×92×37 mm, it fits in any pocket or backpack, making it indispensable for hiking, travel, sports events and nature observation. Award-winning since 1983, the Trinovid BCA is a classic among high-performance compact binoculars. The roof prism system with P40 phase correction and HighLux-System HLS® ensures high contrast and impeccable colour fidelity, while HDC® and AquaDura® provide maximum light transmission and hydrophobic protection on outer lenses. The 113 m field of view at 1,000 m is exceptional for a 20 mm objective.
HDC® + AquaDura® and P40 + HLS® in pocket format
Despite its compact size, the Trinovid 8x20 BCA integrates the same optical technology stack as Leica’s full-size binoculars. The HDC® (High Durable Coating) multi-layer treatment on all surfaces maximises light transmission and scratch resistance; AquaDura® provides hydrophobic and oleophobic protection on outer lenses. The roof prism system with P40 (phase correction) and HLS® (HighLux-System) maximises internal reflectance and phase coherence: critical parameters in a compact binocular where every photon counts. Internal focusing with dioptre compensation on the eyepiece (±3.5 dpt).
14 mm eye relief, 32–74 mm IPD, spectacle-compatible
The 14 mm eye relief and twist-and-pull removable eyecups deliver the full field of view even for spectacle wearers — a remarkable performance for a 20 mm binocular. The exceptionally wide interpupillary range (32–74 mm) adapts to any face shape, including children. The 3 m minimum focus distance enables close-range observation of insects and flora. Aluminium body, splash-resistant. Supplied with: neck strap, Cordura case with belt clip.
