The Leica Trinovid Classic 10x40 is the highest-magnification model in the Trinovid Classic range: 10x with a 40 mm objective, high-quality aluminium chassis in classic black leather. Like all Trinovid Classic models, it draws on the iconic design of the Leica binoculars of the 1960s that accompanied the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, updated with current Leica optical technology. The 10x magnification makes it the ideal instrument for resolving fine details at long range: safari, birdwatching in open landscapes, sports observation and architectural documentation. The 4 mm exit pupil and twilight factor of 20.0 maintain clear, high-contrast images even in sub-optimal lighting.
HDC® and AquaDura® optics: maximum transmission, protected surfaces
The optical system integrates the HDC® (High Durable Coating) multi-layer treatment on all surfaces for maximum light transmission and long-lasting scratch resistance, with the hydrophobic and oleophobic AquaDura® outer lens coating that repels water, oil and dust to maintain image clarity in adverse weather. The Schmidt-Pechan prism system ensures chromatic fidelity and edge-to-edge resolution.
6.3° field of view, 16 mm eye relief, ±3 dioptre correction
With a real field of view of 6.3° (110 m at 1,000 m), the Trinovid 10x40 offers precise observation of distant subjects. The 16 mm eye relief and click-stop eyecups ensure viewing comfort even for spectacle wearers. The ±3 dpt dioptre correction compensates for individual visual asymmetries. Continuous interpupillary adjustment 55–75 mm. Minimum focus approx. 4.5 m.
Aluminium body, black leather, splash-resistant
The high-quality aluminium chassis provides structural lightness and long-term durability; the black leather covering protects against impacts and provides the characteristic aesthetic of the Classic series. The binocular is splash-resistant. At ca. 600 g for 112×142×53 mm, it is the most compact model in the range. Made in Portugal. Supplied with: carrying strap, leather pouch, eyepiece caps, lens cloth.
