The Leica Trinovid Classic 7x35 is a piece of optical history: it was no coincidence that NASA chose it for the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969. More than half a century later, the Trinovid Classic returns with its iconic design unchanged — black leather armour, high-quality aluminium chassis — and optics updated to current Leica standards. The 7x magnification delivers stable images and an exceptionally wide field of view, ideal for calm, vibration-free observation of landscapes and wildlife. Compact enough to fit in a pocket, it is the perfect companion for travel, concerts, theatre, safaris and nature outings.
8.0° Field of View and 5 mm Exit Pupil
With a real field of view of 8.0° (140 m at 1,000 m) — the widest in the Trinovid Classic range — the 7x35 offers a breathtaking panorama, ideal for tracking birds in flight or sweeping landscapes. The 5 mm exit pupil ensures bright images in any lighting condition, including low-light and dusk. The 16 mm eye relief and click-stop eyecups deliver optimal viewing comfort even for spectacle wearers.
HDC® and AquaDura® Coatings for Clear Images in Any Weather
The optics benefit from the HDC® (High Durable Coating) multi-layer treatment on all surfaces for maximum light transmission and long-lasting scratch resistance. The hydrophobic AquaDura® coating on external lenses repels water and dirt, keeping the view clear in light rain. The Schmidt-Pechan prism system delivers a compact light path with excellent edge-to-edge sharpness and true colour fidelity.
Aluminium Construction and Timeless Design
The high-quality aluminium chassis ensures long-term durability and resilience, while the classic black leather covering adds timeless elegance and a premium tactile feel. The Trinovid Classic is both a collector’s piece and a precision instrument for the demanding observer: the perfect blend of Leica’s craft heritage and contemporary optical technology. Made in Portugal.
Versatile, Compact, Always with You
Weighing just ca. 590 g, the Trinovid Classic 7x35 is ready for any occasion: birdwatching, sports events, opera, cultural travel, wildlife observation. The ca. 4 m close-focus distance allows near-field observations. The leather body is splash-resistant. Supplied with: shaped neoprene strap, leather case, eyepiece caps and lens cloth.
