Vai al moduloLeica Ultravid 10x42 HD-Plus: the 10x42 fluorite binocular for safari and long-distance birdwatching
The Leica Ultravid 10x42 HD-Plus is the choice of birdwatchers and wildlife observers who demand maximum resolving power in a full-size 42 mm format. The 10x magnification combined with the pure fluorite optical system — 9 elements per side — delivers chromatically neutral, high-resolution images even on subjects hundreds of metres away. The twilight factor of 20.5 is the highest in the Ultravid 42 series, ensuring effective performance from full daylight through to advanced dusk. Remarkably, at just 750 g for 120×147×68 mm, the 10x42 is the lightest model in the entire 42 HD-Plus range — lighter than both the 7x42 (770 g) and the 8x42 (790 g) — making it ideal for extended safari sessions, birdwatching across open terrain and tripod use. The minimum focus distance of approx. 2.9 m is exceptional for a 10x binocular.
Fluorite, 9 lenses per side: resolution and chromatic neutrality at the top
Like the 8x42 model in the same series, the Ultravid 10x42 HD-Plus features 9 pure fluorite lenses per side: the configuration required to correct the additional aberrations introduced by 10x magnification at equal 42 mm aperture. Fluorite’s Abbe dispersion value is the lowest of any commercial optical material — the result is maximum edge-to-edge sharpness and zero colour fringing even at high contrast and maximum range. HDC® multi-layer coating on all surfaces; AquaDura® hydrophobic and oleophobic protection on outer lenses.
P40 + HLS™, ADC™ and 6.4° Field of View
The roof prism system with P40 phase correction and HighLux-System HLS™ maximises internal reflectance and phase coherence across the 400–700 nm spectrum, outperforming silver or enhanced aluminium coatings. ADC™ (Automatic Diopter Compensation) automatically compensates inter-ocular dioptre asymmetry, eliminating the need for recalibration during extended field sessions. The 6.4° field of view (112 m at 1,000 m) is generous for a 10x42 and supports rapid subject acquisition. Internal focusing via central wheel, free of alignment drift.
750 g, die-cast magnesium, waterproof to 5 m: ready for any environment
At 750 g — the lightest in the 42 series — with a die-cast magnesium body with nitrogen purge, the 10x42 is waterproof to 5 m depth and suited to any environment: savannah, forest, coastline, high alpine. The 16 mm eye relief (AP) and removable eyecups with 2 click stops deliver the full field of view even with corrective spectacles. Continuous interpupillary adjustment 55–75 mm. Tripod-ready via adapter LE42220. Supplied with: ergonomic neoprene strap, objective cap, rain guard, Cordura bag.
