The Celestron RASA 36cm V2 is the flagship of the RASA line: it places the imaging sensor at the front of the tube, creating an ultra-fast f/2.2 system with an extremely wide field of view at the largest aperture available in the series. This design allows for much shorter exposure times than a traditional f/10 system without sacrificing resolution.
The low-dispersion glass optical group eliminates false colour, coma and field curvature, keeping pinpoint stars right into the corners of the largest sensors on the market. The Ultra-Stable Focus System (USFS), built around a precision linear bearing, minimises focus shift and mirror flop. An integrated MagLev fan reduces cooldown time and ensures optimal airflow through the dust-filtered tube. Thanks to its extreme speed, this instrument is also used by government agencies and private companies to track satellites and space debris.
