The Celestron Advanced VX 9.25 SCT is a 235 mm (9.25″) f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with diffraction-limited optics and XLT coatings, mounted on the robust computerised German equatorial Advanced VX mount. The C9.25 is one of the most popular instruments for planetary imaging thanks to its outstanding definition. It is suited for universal use — astronomical and terrestrial, visual and photographic — and benefits from the full modularity of the Celestron SCT family.
The Advanced VX mount was designed for optimal astrophotography performance with small and medium telescopes. It features All-Star Polar Alignment (no need to see Polaris), an autoguider port, Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PPEC), an internal RTC clock with buffer battery (alignment data is retained at power-off) and the ability to image across the meridian without a flip. The enlarged base plate improves stability under heavy loads; the upgraded motors handle slight imbalances effortlessly.
