Your smartphone becomes the telescope controller
The Celestron AstroFi 6 SC completely eliminates the traditional hand controller: the mount creates its own dedicated Wi-Fi network to which your smartphone or tablet connects. With the free Celestron SkyPortal app (iOS and Android), you select the object you want to observe on the interactive sky map and the telescope automatically slews to it and maintains tracking — completely wireless, no cables and no complex setup. The Wi-Fi connection is autonomous: it works even in remote locations where there is no mobile or external Wi-Fi coverage. Alignment is done with the award-winning SkyAlign procedure: simply center three bright objects in the eyepiece and the telescope automatically recognizes its position in the sky.
SCT 150mm optics with StarBright XLT: planets and deep sky
The Schmidt-Cassegrain tube with 150mm aperture delivers a focal length of 1500mm in just 406mm of tube length. The StarBright XLT coatings maximize light transmission and contrast for lunar, planetary and deep-sky observation. With a maximum magnification of 300× and a limiting magnitude of 13.4, the Moon, planets, globular clusters, nebulae and brighter galaxies are all within reach. The included universal smartphone holder allows afocal photography through the eyepiece with your own mobile device.
120,000-object database and 3-star alignment
The single-arm fork altazimuth mount integrates a database of over 120,000 celestial objects with SkyAlign, 3-Star Align and Solar System Align alignment procedures. Two AUX ports allow optional connection of a traditional hand controller. Aluminum tripod with accessory tray completes the system. Included: two Kellner eyepieces 25mm (60×) and 10mm (150×), 1.25" mirror diagonal and StarPointer red dot finder.
