The Celestron Astromaster 130EQ-MD is a compact and versatile Newtonian reflector telescope, ideal for beginners and astronomy enthusiasts seeking precision and ease of use. Featuring a 130 mm optical aperture and the sturdy Celestron CG-3 equatorial mount, it enables smooth tracking of celestial objects. The included Right Ascension (R.A.) motor drive allows automatic tracking of the night sky.
The compact Newtonian reflector tube is mounted on a stable German equatorial CG-3 mount and a solid adjustable steel tripod with an accessory tray. The included motor connects to the R.A. axis, providing automatic sidereal tracking once the telescope is properly polar-aligned. The switch can be set to “N” for the Northern Hemisphere or “S” for the Southern Hemisphere, and the tracking speed can be adjusted to follow Solar System objects.
With its 130 mm primary mirror and 650 mm focal length (f/5), the Celestron Astromaster 130EQ-MD delivers bright, high-contrast images. It allows detailed views of the Moon’s craters, Venus phases, Martian surface details, Jupiter’s moons and cloud bands, Saturn’s rings, and numerous double stars, clusters, and nebulae.
