The new dew heater ring is the ideal solution to prevent dew forming on the Schmidt corrector plate of Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain, EdgeHD and RASA telescopes. The ring mounts permanently on the 14-inch optical tube, replacing the original retaining ring that holds the corrector plate. Installation is simple and quick.
Unlike bands or heating strips that inefficiently heat the lens cell, the Celestron dew heater ring heats the corrector plate directly, delivering heat efficiently to prevent dew formation. Simply connect the ring to an external 12V power source for constant, continuous heat.
For the highest level of dew prevention while maximising energy efficiency, we recommend pairing the ring with a Smart DewHeater controller (sold separately): the controller uses the ring's built-in thermistor to deliver just the right amount of heat based on ambient temperature, humidity, and the corrector's temperature. Includes an extension cable and cable management clip.
