The Celestron EdgeHD 14" (optical tube only) brings EdgeHD's aplanatic, flat-field optics to their largest aperture: a 356mm diameter for exceptional light-gathering power, with pinpoint stars across the field even on today's largest imaging sensors.
Unlike many designs that call themselves "astrographs" while still producing a curved focal plane, EdgeHD optics deliver a field more than three times flatter than a standard Schmidt-Cassegrain. Mirror clutches reduce image shift during long exposures, while vents with an integrated mesh filter release heat from behind the primary mirror. The tube is Fastar compatible for ultra-fast imaging with a removable secondary mirror and optional accessory. StarBright XLT coatings on every surface provide maximum light transmission.
