The Celestron EdgeHD 800 is a high-performance 203 mm Schmidt-Cassegrain aplanatic optical tube with a focal length of 2032 mm (f/10). Designed for diffraction-limited imaging across the entire field, it is ideal for both visual observation and full-frame astrophotography.
EdgeHD optics: Astrophotography-grade quality
The EdgeHD optical system combines the compactness of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with a new optical design that ensures flat, aberration-free fields. Visually, it delivers pinpoint stars to the edge, even with ultra-wide 2" eyepieces. For imaging, it supports CCD and DSLR full-frame sensors with sharpness across the entire frame.
Modular design and extreme flexibility
Thanks to its modular architecture, the EdgeHD 800 performs optimally across focal lengths from 400 mm to 8000 mm, using optional accessories like reducers, Barlows, and third-party optics. It is Fastar compatible, features a primary mirror lock for imaging stability, and includes micro-filtered vents for accelerated thermal equilibrium.

The optics are treated with Starbright XLT coatings to maximize light transmission and deliver high contrast on planets and deep-sky objects.
