Designed with 5-element optics in lanthanum and rare-earth glass, it preserves the characteristic flat-field correction of the Edge HD system, delivering pinpoint stars from the center to the edge of the sensor — ideal for imaging nebulae, galaxies and clusters with cooled CMOS cameras or modified DSLRs on sensors up to APS-C format.
Optical design dedicated to the Edge HD 1400
Unlike generic focal reducers, this accessory is calculated specifically for the Edge HD 1400 optics and preserves its 105 mm backfocus, maintaining compatibility with original Celestron T-Adapters and all dedicated imaging accessories. The CNC-machined aluminum housing ensures precise spacing, alignment and centering of the optical elements. All lens edges are blackened to eliminate internal reflections and maximize contrast.

Installation and compatibility
The reducer screws directly onto the 3.3" rear threaded port of the Edge HD 1400 tube. The large aperture diameter reduces mechanical vignetting and makes the system compatible with APS-C sensors and off-axis guiding systems (OAG). Completing the imaging setup requires the specific photo adapter for EdgeHD 1400 (not included).
Compatibility note
The Celestron 94240 reducer is designed exclusively for the Edge HD 1400 telescope. It is not optically compatible with the standard C14 nor with other Schmidt-Cassegrain or Cassegrain telescopes of different aperture or optical design.
