The Celestron Luminos 2.5x Barlow lens in 2″ (50.8mm) format is a reference apochromatic Barlow for astronomers who pursue high-magnification visual observation and planetary imaging. The four-element optical system multiplies the effective focal length of the telescope by a factor of 2.5x, maintaining excellent colour fidelity and a flat field from the centre to the edges.
4-Element Apochromatic Design with Multi-Layer Coatings
The 4-element apochromatic design with multi-layer coatings ensures maximum light transmission and the suppression of parasitic reflections. The result is a high-contrast image with pinpoint stars and sharp planetary detail, free of chromatic halos — essential for planetary imaging sessions with dedicated CMOS cameras or for visual use with premium eyepieces.
2″ Barrel with Included 1.25″ Adapter
The 2″ (50.8mm) barrel is threaded to accept 2″ eyepiece filters (M48) and accommodates both 2″ eyepieces and 1.25″ eyepieces (31.8mm) via the included reducer. The brass compression rings with knurled locking screws hold the eyepiece securely without scratching the barrel.
The hardened anodised aluminium body provides scratch and corrosion resistance, while the rubber grip ring improves handling even when wearing observation gloves.
