The Celestron NexStar 130 SLT is a 130 mm parabolic-mirror Newtonian reflector on the modern single-arm computerised altazimuth GoTo NexStar SLT mount. Thanks to the simplified SkyAlign alignment function and a database of over 4,000 celestial objects, simply point the telescope at any three bright stars and the NexStar hand control orients itself automatically, ready to find any catalogue object in seconds.
The NexStar hand control is updatable via the internet. The integrated battery compartment (8 AA batteries, not included) provides maximum field autonomy. The NexStar 130 SLT is primarily suited for visual use and allows webcam video and photographic imaging; it is not suitable for terrestrial observations.
