The Celestron NexStar 4 SE is an ultra-compact Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with a 102 mm aperture at f/13 with XLT coatings, mounted on the practical single-arm computerised altazimuth GoTo NexStar SE mount. The NexStar SE series is the perfect synthesis of Celestron’s excellent optics and the advanced GoTo technology of the single-arm mounts. The universal dovetail platform allows use with other compatible optical tubes.
Alignment with SkyAlign technology takes just a few minutes: simply point at any three bright stars and the NexStar computer orients itself automatically, with no need to know the sky. After alignment, a database of over 40,000 objects is available. The NexStar+ hand controller is internet-updateable. The integrated battery compartment (8 AA batteries, not included) provides field autonomy. The NexStar 4 SE is primarily suited for visual use — both terrestrial and astronomical — but also allows imaging with DSLR, mirrorless and webcam video.
