The Celestron NexStar 5 SC SLT is a 127 mm (5″) f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with diffraction-limited optics and XLT high-transmission coatings, mounted on the practical single-arm computerised altazimuth GoTo NexStar SLT mount. The C5 stands out for its exceptional compactness and light weight combined with high optical performance. Its versatility makes it suitable for astronomical and terrestrial, visual and photographic use. The universal dovetail saddle allows compatibility with a wide range of accessories.
Alignment with SkyAlign takes just a few minutes: simply point at any three bright stars and the NexStar computer orients itself automatically. After alignment, a database of over 40,000 objects is available. The NexStar+ hand controller is internet-updateable. The integrated battery compartment (8 AA batteries, not included) provides field autonomy. Included software: Celestron Starry Night Special Edition and the free SkyPortal app (iOS and Android).
