The Celestron X-Cel LX 18mm is a super wide-angle 6-element eyepiece with a flat-field superwide optical design, suited to low-to-medium magnification observation of the Moon, planets, star clusters, nebulae and medium-sized galaxies. With an apparent field of view of 60° and an eye relief of 16mm, it delivers comfortable and immersive viewing — ideal for extended observing sessions across a wide variety of celestial objects.
The rubber coating ensures a secure grip even in cold and humid conditions. The height-adjustable eyecups with helical mechanism adapt easily to any observer, including spectacle wearers. The multi-layer anti-reflection coating on all 6 optical elements maximises light transmission, delivering sharp, high-contrast and detail-rich images. The parfocal design with other eyepieces in the X-Cel LX series eliminates the need to refocus when changing eyepieces, making observing sessions smoother and more efficient. The filter-threaded 31.8mm barrel allows direct mounting of standard astronomy filters.
