The Fujinon Hyper-Clarity HC 8x42 is a high-end roof-prism binocular designed for birdwatching, astronomy and demanding outdoor use. The 42 mm objective with ED lanthanum glass effectively reduces chromatic and spherical aberrations, delivering sharp, high-contrast, colour-accurate images across the entire field of view — from centre to edges.
The optical design with 9 elements in 7 groups controls distortion across the full field. All light-transmitting surfaces — lens elements and prisms — are treated with the exclusive Super EBC FUJINON (Electron Beam Coating) multi-layer anti-reflection coating, the same used on Fujifilm's X-series interchangeable lenses. The BAK4 roof prisms feature dielectric multilayer coating and phase correction coating to minimise interference and maximise contrast and resolution.
Premium ergonomics and high-end design
Alumite-finished aluminium eyecups with fine knurling allow comfortable focus adjustment even when wearing gloves. The 18 mm eye relief ensures comfortable use with eyeglasses. The slip-resistant elastomeric exterior material provides a secure grip in all conditions. The magnesium alloy chassis delivers strength and lightweight durability. Made in Japan.
Waterproofing, fogproofing and filter compatibility
The fully O-ring-sealed, nitrogen-filled body is waterproof to 1m for 5 minutes and fogproof against sudden temperature changes. Hydrophobic coatings on objectives and eyepieces repel water and moisture. The M46×0.75 filter thread allows mounting of PL filters, nebula filters and other optical accessories.
