The problem all other collimators ignore
The focuser clamp screw pushes any standard collimator off the optical axis on one side. The Hotech SCA-1.25D solves this with SCA (Self-Centering Adapter) technology: an internal rubber membrane expands uniformly when the locking ring is turned, centering the collimator precisely on the 1.25" focuser axis. Precise, repeatable and reliable at every use.
Fine laser dot and high-precision alignment
The laser beam is calibrated for optimal size at the correct working distance — a small, concentrated dot, not the large diffuse spot of many inexpensive collimators. The 45° target plate with laser-etched grid is included as standard, allowing primary mirror alignment from the back of the telescope without moving to the front during the procedure.
