Vai al moduloThe Omegon Deluxe Polar Wedge is designed to precisely align a portable star tracker (such as the MiniTrack) or another small travel mount toward the celestial North Pole, far more accurately and stably than with an ordinary photographic ball head.
Why a polar wedge instead of a ball head
A ball head allows free movement in every direction, but that same freedom makes alignment to the celestial pole imprecise and hard to repeat consistently. A polar wedge, like a small telescope polar wedge, lets you set the correct polar altitude once and keep it stable for the whole session, simply by pointing the axis north.
Fine adjustment in altitude and azimuth
Two stainless steel screws allow fine azimuth adjustment, useful when you're very close to the pole and just need that last, minimal tweak. Polar altitude adjustment covers a range from 10° to 60°, with a laser-engraved scale for easy reading even in the dark.
Integrated bubble level and Vixen-style clamp
An elegantly integrated bubble level helps position the tripod level before starting alignment. The flat side clamp for Vixen-style dovetail plates holds the star tracker firmly, with a gentler yet equally secure grip compared to models relying on a single screw.
CNC components, made in Portugal
All components are machined with CNC equipment, with a deliberately slim design that keeps the screws freely accessible even with a tracker attached. It's produced in small batches in Portugal, where quality control also takes place.
