Vai al moduloThe Omegon Moon Filter 1.25" was designed to make Moon observation more enjoyable, since the Moon often appears too dazzling when observed at full focus through a telescope, especially during full moon phases. The flat glass simply screws onto the standard thread of nearly all 1.25" eyepieces.
Not just for the Moon: also useful on planets
By reducing overall brightness, the filter also increases perceived contrast during planetary observation, better highlighting surface details in the red-blue range — useful, for example, for distinguishing the Great Red Spot and Jupiter's cloud bands. It also helps reduce glare caused by urban light pollution during observing sessions.
Metal construction, not plastic
Unlike many budget filters with a plastic mount, this model has an all-metal structure with precise threading, ensuring a solid, long-lasting connection with the eyepiece. It comes with a sturdy protective case.
30% transmission: which telescopes it suits
With a light transmission of 30% (equivalent to an ND 0.5 optical density), the filter is best suited to telescopes with an aperture up to around 150-200mm. On larger apertures, where the Moon's brightness is even more intense, a lower-transmission filter (e.g. 13%) may be preferable.
