Vai al moduloThis compact polar wedge from Omegon is designed to pair with small travel mounts such as the MiniTrack and similar portable star trackers, allowing much more precise alignment to the celestial pole than with a common ball head. It already includes the dovetail plate needed for the connection.
Why a polar wedge instead of a ball head
Pointing a ball head at the Pole Star is possible, but alignment remains imprecise and hard to repeat. With this polar wedge, you can instead set the polar altitude and azimuth angle with the same precision as a large telescope, keeping the setting stable for the whole session.
Fine azimuth adjustment and wide tilt angle
Two dedicated screws allow fine azimuth adjustment, useful for that last approach toward the pole. The adjustable tilt angle from -35° to 70° covers nearly all latitudes on Earth, making it suitable also for anyone photographing while travelling in different regions.
Included Vixen-style dovetail plate
The Vixen-style quick clamp with locking screw lets you attach virtually any small travel mount (MiniTrack and equivalent models) quickly and securely. Since February 2026, the package includes the updated 55mm dovetail plate with screw.
Integrated bubble level and aluminium body
An integrated bubble level makes it easy to level the tripod before starting alignment. The aluminium body provides a long-lasting stable base, avoiding the limitations of generic tripod heads not designed for astrophotography.
