Vai al moduloThe MiniTrack LX3 Essentials is the base version of the MiniTrack star tracker: a fully mechanical tracker with no batteries or electronics, designed for wide-field astrophotography with cameras and small telephoto lenses. Simply wind it up like a wristwatch to start tracking, which lasts around 60 minutes per wind.
A spring mechanism instead of a counterweight
Instead of traditional counterweights, the LX3 uses a spring system that compensates for the weight of the mounted camera, slowing or speeding up the movement to match the load. The body is CNC-machined aluminium, with a Teflon bushing that ensures smooth axis movement.
Essentials version: the entry point to the range
Compared to the MiniTrack LX3 SET, the Essentials version includes a simple polar finder tube instead of the optical polar scope, keeping the price down while still providing sufficient alignment for wide-field exposures up to around 20-30 seconds. You can later upgrade to the optical polar scope by purchasing it separately along with its mounting bracket.
Compatibility
The mount features two connections: a 1/4" thread for the photo tripod, and a 3/8" thread for a ball head (not included in this version). It's designed exclusively for observing from the northern hemisphere.
Invented in Italy
The MiniTrack was invented by Italian amateur astronomer Cristian Fattinnanzi; Omegon developed its production, making it one of the most widespread portable star trackers among amateur astrophotographers.
