The Optolong L-Pro EOS Clip filter for Canon Full Frame is the clip-in version of the L-Pro filter, designed to fit directly inside Canon DSLRs with full-frame sensors, in front of the sensor and behind the mirror. This solution removes the need for filters on every lens and allows the use of any lens – including wide-angle – without vignetting.
It selectively reduces sodium vapor and mercury vapor emissions and the background brightness caused by atmospheric oxygen ("skyglow"), preserving natural color rendition for emission nebulae, galaxies and star clusters. Thanks to its high passband transmission (95%) and minimal impact on color rendition, it is also suitable for photographing continuum sources such as galaxies and globular clusters.
Warning – compatibility: this filter can only be used with Canon EOS 6D, EOS 5D, EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 5D Mark III. Newer models (EOS 6D Mark II, EOS 5D Mark IV and later) are not compatible: the filter blocks mirror movement and can cause camera malfunction.
