The Pentax XW 3.5mm eyepiece is designed for demanding astronomical observation, delivering exceptional sharpness, wide field of view, and high comfort. With a 70° apparent field of view and a generous 20 mm eye relief, it provides an immersive and comfortable viewing experience, even during extended sessions.
Its waterproof construction (JIS Class 4) ensures durability and reliability under challenging outdoor conditions, such as high humidity or light rain. Compatible with PENTAX spotting scopes and astronomical telescopes using 1.25" or 2" focusers.
Advanced Lanthanum Glass Optics
This eyepiece employs lanthanum glass with a high refractive index and low dispersion, delivering high-resolution images with minimal aberrations. The computer-optimized optical design reduces blackout effects while enhancing contrast and definition.
PENTAX SMC Multi-Coating
All air-to-glass surfaces are treated with PENTAX SMC full multi-coatings, while laminated surfaces receive a special coating. This results in a light transmission efficiency of over 90%, with peak values of 96% at 550 nm in the visible spectrum.
Practical and Compatible Design
Featuring a removable rubber eyecup and a 43 mm / 0.75 mm thread for adapter mounting, the eyepiece ensures versatility for advanced users. The 31.7 mm (1.25") standard barrel allows easy installation on a wide range of spotting scopes and telescopes.
