The XW series uses lanthanum glass elements that minimize aberrations and deliver a perfectly balanced image with outstanding color fidelity. The design effectively compensates for spherical aberration of the exit pupil, reducing blackout effects.
All air-to-glass surfaces are coated with Pentax’s SMC multi-layer coating, while laminated surfaces receive an innovative partial coating. This ensures light transmission above 90%, with an impressive peak of 96% at 550nm within the visible spectrum.
With a JIS Class 4 waterproof rating, this eyepiece is resistant to light rain and nighttime humidity, ensuring reliable performance in all conditions. Not designed for underwater use.
