The Sky-Watcher Esprit 100EDX APO is a high-end apochromatic triplet refractor designed for demanding astrophotographers and visual observers. With a 100 mm aperture, a 550 mm focal length and a fast f/5.5 focal ratio, it delivers an excellent balance between resolution, wide field coverage and portability.
High-Precision ED Triplet Optics
The Esprit 100EDX features a air-spaced apochromatic triplet optical system using Ohara FPL-53 ED glass, ensuring outstanding color correction, high contrast and sharp detail rendition. All glass-to-air surfaces are treated with MHTC (Metallic High-Transmission Coating), providing a maximum light transmission of up to 99.5%.
3” Heavy-Duty Dual-Speed Focuser
Equipped with a 3-inch rotatable dual-speed focuser with 1:11 micro-reduction, the Esprit 100EDX allows smooth and precise focusing even when using heavy astrophotography equipment. The large diameter improves field illumination, while the M56 thread enables direct connection of compatible accessories.
Mechanical Design and Transport
The mechanical construction of the Esprit 100EDX is optimized for rigidity and long-term stability. The integrated handle mounted on the tube rings ensures safe and ergonomic handling, while the custom-fit aluminum hard case provides reliable protection during transport and storage.
