The Sky-Watcher Newton Explorer 250/1200 AZ-EQ6 Synscan telescope pairs the largest primary mirror in the Explorer range — 250mm aperture, 1200mm focal length (f/4.8) — with a computerised Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 Pro mount, usable in alt-azimuth or equatorial mode, with up to 25kg payload capacity (doubled in alt-az mode with two optical tubes at once).

Who it's for

The large 250mm aperture gathers significant light, ideal for observing and imaging faint objects such as galaxies and nebulae, while also allowing high magnifications for planetary detail. The AZ-EQ6 Pro mount, lighter and more stable than the previous NEQ6, can switch between equatorial and alt-azimuth configuration in minutes (even with two optical tubes at once), making it a versatile choice for both serious astrophotography and visual observation.
