The SkyWatcher Skyliner 250/1200 Flextube GoTo is a 250 mm Newtonian Dobson telescope with a collapsible truss tube (Flextube), 1200 mm focal length (f/5) and an integrated SynScan GoTo system with built-in Wi-Fi. Once aligned on stars, the telescope automatically points to any of the 42,000 objects stored in memory and tracks them automatically to compensate for Earth’s rotation – controllable directly from a smartphone or tablet via the SynScan app, with no physical handpad required. The Flextube collapses to approximately 50% of its length for transport and opens to observing position in seconds.
250 mm + GoTo: Maximum Access to the Deep Sky
The 250 mm aperture makes objects down to magnitude 14.5 accessible under dark skies, with a light-collecting area nearly three times greater than a 175 mm telescope. The GoTo system puts this power to immediate use: select an object in the app and the telescope points automatically – ideal for public star parties, beginners and planetary astrophotography with tracking.
Observing possibilities with 250 mm:
- Deep sky: detailed galaxy structure, planetary and diffuse nebulae, globular clusters fully resolved to their faintest stars
- Planets: cloud belts on Jupiter, Cassini Division and ring structure on Saturn, polar caps of Mars, discs of Uranus and Neptune
- Double stars and variables: splitting of close pairs and visual photometric monitoring
Included accessories: 9×50 finder scope, eyepieces SP 26 mm (46x) and SP 10 mm (120x), 31.8 mm barrel. SynScan SK-HAND5 handpad optional.
