The SkyWatcher EQM-35 PRO is a highly versatile equatorial GoTo mount that offers the functionality of two systems in one: a full SynScan GoTo equatorial mount with dual-axis tracking, and a lightweight modular setup ideal for portable astrophotography.
In its standard configuration with both RA and DEC axes installed, the EQM-35 PRO operates as a complete GoTo mount with a 10 kg payload capacity for visual observing. Its improved mechanics provide enhanced stability, reduced vibrations and exceptionally short damping times.
A key performance feature is the large 92.5 mm RA worm wheel with 180 teeth, delivering significantly improved tracking precision. Its periodic error values are comparable to those found in more advanced mount classes, making it an excellent choice for long-exposure astrophotography.
A distinctive advantage of the EQM-35 PRO is the ability to remove the DEC axis, counterweight bar and the counterweights. This transforms the mount into a compact, lightweight tracking platform for DSLR or mirrorless cameras, which can be attached via a Vixen dovetail (not included), a ball head (not included) or an optional L-bracket (SK-EQM35-L). In this configuration, it resembles a Star Adventurer-style setup but with superior payload capacity and much more precise tracking.
With solar, lunar and sidereal tracking modes, 1–3 star alignment, an ST4 autoguider port and a database of more than 42,900 objects, the EQM-35 PRO is an excellent choice for mobile astrophotographers and visual deep-sky observers seeking precision and flexibility.
