The Sky-Watcher Esprit 80EDX APO is a high-performance apochromatic refractor designed to meet the demands of advanced astrophotography while delivering excellent results in visual observation. Featuring an 80 mm air-spaced apochromatic triplet with a 400 mm focal length and a fast f/5 focal ratio, this optical tube offers wide-field capability with outstanding sharpness and color correction.
The optical system uses premium Ohara FPL-53 ED glass, combined with Sky-Watcher’s MHTC (Metallic High-Transmission Coatings) on all air-to-glass surfaces. This ensures a light transmission of up to 99.5%, delivering bright, high-contrast images with minimal chromatic aberration.
The dual-speed rotatable focuser with 1:11 reduction is engineered for precise focusing and high load capacity, making it suitable for heavy imaging equipment. Its large diameter improves field illumination and guarantees smooth, flexure-free operation during long exposure sessions.
A retractable dew shield minimizes transport length and allows the telescope to be safely stored in the included custom aluminum hard case. The integrated handle and tube rings provide secure and ergonomic handling during setup and transport.
