The Sky-Watcher Evolux 62ED is a next-generation apochromatic ED refractor featuring a redesigned structure, enhanced mechanical performance and exceptional compactness. Inspired by the renowned Evostar ED line, it introduces notable improvements in handling, precision and imaging capability.
Compact Design and Enhanced Mechanics
The new 2.4" focuser (61 mm) provides significantly higher load capacity and better stability compared to the Evostar ED series, ensuring precise focusing even with heavier imaging setups. The retractable dew shield and the collar directly connected to the Vixen-style dovetail make the Evolux 62ED one of the most compact refractors in the Sky-Watcher range.
Redesigned ED Optical System
The apochromatic ED doublet uses a newly selected low-dispersion glass type and a completely redesigned optical scheme, including lens curvature and form factors. Sky-Watcher’s proven anti-reflection coatings offer excellent contrast and sharpness.
Imaging Performance with Included Reducer/Flattener
With a native focal length of 400 mm and f/6.4 focal ratio, the Evolux 62ED is already well suited for astrophotography. The included 0.9x reducer/flattener reduces the focal length to 360 mm and the focal ratio to f/5.5, producing a flat field with pinpoint stars across the entire sensor.
Practical Mounting Options
The tube collar includes two mini-Vixen slots for attaching both a finder and a guide scope while maintaining perfect balance. The Evolux 62ED comes supplied with a hard aluminium case, 0.9x reducer/flattener and field rotator.
