The Sky-Watcher Evolux 82ED is the evolution of the acclaimed Evostar ED series, featuring a fully redesigned structure, significant mechanical upgrades and exceptional compactness. While modernized in every aspect, it preserves the high optical performance expected from Sky-Watcher ED apochromatic refractors.
Compact, Modern Design
The new 2.4" focuser (61 mm) offers increased load capacity, improved stability and greater focusing precision compared to the Evostar ED line. The retractable dew shield and the collar directly aligned with the Vixen-style dovetail make the Evolux 82ED one of the most compact refractors in the Sky-Watcher catalogue, with high-quality finishes in the brand’s signature green.
Redesigned ED Optical System
The ED apochromatic doublet has been fully recalculated, including revised lens curvatures and geometry. A new low-dispersion glass type enhances chromatic correction, while Sky-Watcher’s trusted anti-reflection coatings deliver sharp, high-contrast images.
Enhanced Imaging Performance
With a native focal length of 530 mm and a focal ratio of f/6.4, the Evolux 82ED is already a versatile and bright imaging instrument. The included 0.9x reducer/flattener reduces the focal length to 480 mm and the ratio to f/5.5, producing a flat field with pinpoint stars across the entire sensor.
Stable Mounting and Perfect Balance
Two mini-Vixen slots are integrated on the collar, allowing simultaneous mounting of a finder and a guide scope without compromising balance. The Evolux 82ED comes supplied with a hard aluminium case, 0.9x reducer/flattener and field rotator.
