The Sky-Watcher Heliostar 76mm H-alpha solar telescope represents a breakthrough in solar observation. Designed for demanding astronomers and astrophotographers, it allows you to study the Sun in H-alpha light (656.3 nm), revealing prominences, filaments, flares, active regions, and chromospheric structures invisible with standard white-light filters.
Optical performance and advanced technologies
With Solis Etalon technology and the Trifid Tuner, the Heliostar achieves a bandwidth of only 0.55Å, delivering high-contrast and detailed solar images without the need for expensive double etalons. The dual-speed 2” Crayford focuser ensures fine focusing accuracy, essential for high-resolution solar imaging.
Certified safety
Each Heliostar is individually tested and complies with ISO 12312-2 safety standards for solar observation. The integrated 11.5 mm blocking filter in the removable 1.25″ diagonal provides additional protection. Important: this is a dedicated solar telescope, designed exclusively for Sun observation, and must not be used for other celestial objects.
Complete package included
The kit includes a dedicated solar finder, mounting rings, Vixen-style dovetail bar, 20mm 70° eyepiece, and smartphone adapter, all packed in a sturdy carrying case. Combined with the Sky-Watcher SUNGT mount, it becomes a portable setup with automatic solar tracking capability.
