Vai al moduloSkyWatcher Newton 130 AZ-EQ Avant: the versatile f/5 Newtonian on an alt-az and equatorial mount
The SkyWatcher Newton 130 AZ-EQ Avant is a 130mm Newtonian reflector with a focal length of 650mm (f/5), mounted on the versatile AZ-EQ Avant mount, usable in both alt-azimuth and equatorial configurations. With a maximum magnification of 260x and a fast focal ratio, this telescope is ideal for those seeking a complete instrument for the visual observation of planets, the Moon, star clusters, and galaxies, with a mount that adapts to any situation.
The AZ-EQ Avant mount: alt-az and equatorial in one
The standout feature of this setup is the AZ-EQ Avant mount, which represents the perfect synthesis between an alt-az and a portable equatorial mount. It can be switched from one configuration to the other in seconds: alt-az mode for quick, casual observing sessions — equatorial mode for tracking celestial objects using the Right Ascension slow-motion control. The ~3 kg payload capacity ensures stability and rigidity throughout the entire session.
Newton f/5: wide field and high light-gathering power
The 130mm Newton f/5 design is renowned for its high luminosity and wide field of view, making it effective for both high-magnification planetary observation and deep-sky viewing: nebulae, open clusters, and galaxies appear bright and detailed even at medium magnification. The aluminized mirror coating maximises reflectivity and ensures bright, high-contrast images.
Intuitive polar alignment and practical tripod
To switch to equatorial mode, simply set the observation latitude using the mount’s graduated scale and point it toward the celestial North Pole using your smartphone compass. The collapsible half-column aluminium tripod features an accessory tray for safe storage of eyepieces. The kit includes two 31.8mm eyepieces (Super 25mm at 36x and Super 10mm at 90x) plus the Red-Dot finder for fast aiming.
