The SkyWatcher Newton Explorer 200/1000 PDS is a high-performance Newtonian reflector designed for both visual astronomy and astrophotography. With its 200 mm aperture and f/5 focal ratio, it delivers excellent light gathering power and bright, high-contrast images of nebulae, galaxies, star clusters and planets.
Thanks to its large aperture, this telescope collects 78% more light than a 150 mm model, enabling detailed observation and imaging of faint deep-sky objects. The Newtonian optical design offers impressive performance at an exceptional price-to-quality ratio.
The PDS version features a 2" Crayford focuser with 1:10 micro-focusing and a 2"/1.25" adapter, making it ideal for wide-field eyepieces and cameras with larger sensors. For astrophotography, we recommend using the AOCORR coma corrector for f/5 Newtonians.
The telescope includes tube rings, a Vixen-style dovetail bar, 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces, a 2" to 1.25" adapter and a 9×50 optical finderscope. For visual observation, an EQ5-class mount is suitable, while long-exposure astrophotography benefits from a EQ6-R class mount.
