Sky-Watcher Newton Quattro 300/1200 f/4: the astrograph for high-resolution deep-sky imaging
The Sky-Watcher Newton Quattro 300/1200 f/4 optical tube is a reflector with a 300mm aperture (12 inches) and 1200mm focal length, designed for astrophotographers seeking maximum resolution and speed in a photographic Newtonian. The native f/4 focal ratio captures the faintest details of galaxies and nebulae with much shorter integration times compared to instruments with longer focal lengths.
Precision optics for long imaging sessions
The aluminium tube is internally blackened to eliminate stray reflections, while the parabolic mirror in low-expansion borosilicate glass ensures rapid acclimatisation and superior thermal stability during long night sessions. The primary is supported by a 9-point cell, providing solid support and precise, long-lasting collimation. The thin, rigid secondary mirror spider vanes minimise diffraction on bright stars.
3" dual-speed 1:10 Crayford focuser
The sturdy 3-inch Crayford focuser, with a 1:10 gear ratio, allows fine and precise focusing even under the weight of imaging cameras, filter wheels or coma correctors. The included 31.8mm reducer allows the use of both 50.8mm and 31.8mm eyepieces/accessories.
Recommended mounts
The considerable weight and size of this instrument necessarily require a high-end mount with adequate load capacity, such as the Sky-Watcher EQ8-R or higher.
