The SkyWatcher Planetary 4mm is a modified Plössl eyepiece designed specifically for high-magnification observation of lunar details, planets and double stars. With a focal length of 4mm and an apparent field of view of 58° — the widest in its category — it delivers a wide and immersive view even at maximum magnifications, maintaining high sharpness and contrast across the entire field.
The 5-element, 3-group optical design with multi-layer coating ensures optimal light transmission, minimising stray reflections and preserving contrast during planetary observing sessions. The filter-threaded 31.8mm barrel allows direct mounting of standard astronomy filters without additional adapters. The rubber eyecup and rubber dewshield provide comfortable extended use, while the generous eye relief makes this eyepiece well suited to spectacle wearers. The anodised aluminium housing ensures robustness and long-term durability.
