Maksutov-Cassegrain 90/1250 telescope on Sky-Watcher Star Quest equatorial mount
The new Sky-Watcher StarQuest equatorial mount is proposed as a valid and more powerful alternative to those with classic design, ensuring remarkable stability, payload capacity up to 3kg and, thanks to the comfortable friction system on both axes, smooth movements and effective.
The clutch system inherited from the twin AZEQ Avant allows exceptional performance in terms of handling and ease of aiming, without sudden jerks or frictions that can invalidate the observations. Once the axes are tightened, the frame can be used for fine and precise aiming thanks to the micrometric movements induced by the worm screw system - 122 toothed crown.
For an effective polar alignment it will be sufficient, through the bubble function of your smartphone, to set the height of the mount with the knob dedicated to a value equal to your observation latitude in degrees and to orient the mount itself in azimuth towards the celestial North Pole. By acting only on the axis of Right Ascension through micrometric motions, you can keep the object you are observing in the field.
