The Tecnosky Horizon binoviewer is designed to deliver a natural and immersive binocular observing experience with Newtonian and refractor telescopes. Unlike traditional binoviewers, the Horizon reaches focus without the need for an optical corrector system (OCS), allowing the use of low magnifications and wide fields of view without excessively increasing the focal length.
This feature makes it ideal for observing large deep-sky objects such as open clusters, extended nebulae and galaxies. For example, using a 400mm Dobsonian telescope with two 18mm eyepieces (60° apparent field), magnifications of 88x can be achieved while maintaining a wide and detailed field. With a 150mm achromatic refractor, it is possible to observe at just 50x, a performance rarely achievable with standard binoviewers.
The Horizon also delivers a fully erect image, making it suitable for terrestrial observation when used with Newtonian or refractor telescopes in direct focus. The 17.3mm clear prism aperture ensures excellent compatibility with standard eyepieces and avoids the need for bulky optical correctors. Eyepieces with long eye relief or wide apparent fields are also fully compatible thanks to the optimized optical design.
