The Tecnosky EDT 80/480mm V2 is a compact and high-performance apochromatic refractor designed to deliver excellent results for both deep-sky astrophotography and visual observation. Featuring an ED triplet with FPL-51 glass, this telescope offers superior chromatic correction compared to standard ED doublets—while maintaining an affordable price point.
The air-spaced ED triplet optical design includes a central element made from synthetic fluorite FPL-51 and outer lenses with a high refractive index. All surfaces are fully multi-coated (FMC) to reduce reflections and maximize light transmission.
With a fast f/6 focal ratio, the Tecnosky 80/480 is ideal for long-exposure astrophotography. When combined with a 0.8x reducer/flattener, it becomes a powerful f/4.8 astrograph, perfect for wide-field targets such as nebulae and galaxies.
Compact, Travel-Friendly & Built to Last
The CNC-machined aluminum tube weighs only 3.5 kg and measures 355 mm in length, making it an ideal travel telescope for amateur astronomers seeking dark skies. The updated V2 version includes a robust and precise 2.5” rack-and-pinion focuser, featuring a 1:10 fine adjustment knob, integrated scale, and a 2” to 1.25” adapter.
