Vai al moduloThe TeleVue Panoptic 24mm brings the Nagler wide-angle concept into a more affordable price bracket: 6 optical elements, a 68° apparent field of view and a 1.25" barrel designed to give the widest true field possible in this format. Its 27mm field stop matches that of the 32mm TeleVue Plossl, but at higher magnification, which darkens the sky background and reveals more detail on extended objects.
Al Nagler's design for an affordable wide-angle eyepiece
With the Panoptic series, Al Nagler set out to bring Nagler-like performance in the 60°+ field class at a lower cost. The idea of an "interface" lens between eyepiece and Barlow, born from this very project, later evolved into the TeleVue Powermates. The result is an eyepiece that offers much of the Nagler line's optical quality, at a fraction of the weight and bulk.
Light and comfortable, even for eyeglass wearers
At just 232 grams and with 15mm of eye relief, the 24mm Panoptic is among the lightest and most compact in the range, making it a popular choice for binocular viewers and eyeglass wearers alike. The entire Panoptic series is parfocal: switching eyepieces requires no refocusing.
Construction and compatibility
The 1.25" (31.75mm) barrel features filter threads for standard astronomy filters, a safety undercut groove and a rubber grip. The eyecup is fold-down. The proprietary TeleVue multi-layer coating and blackened lens edges ensure sharp, high-contrast images even on fast Newtonian telescopes down to f/5.
